Yis Weintraub
Co-founder and School Director
His passion for the Chinese language and culture led him to start easyMandarin Chinese School.
Mr. Weintraub grew up in Pennsylvania and New York, USA, and now lives in Shanghai, China. Prior to founding easyMandarin in Shanghai, Mr. Weintraub resided in New York City and served in a number of capacities at Viacom Inc., most recently as Director of Treasury/Finance at the MTV Networks cable television division. Mr. Weintraub holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a BBA from Temple University. He is fluent in Mandarin.

Liann Zhang
Co-founder and School Principal
After a successful stint in the restaurant business, Ms. Zhang had an idea to service the large and growing number of foreigners in China. Her previous company, LZ Shanghai International, provided Ayi (maid) services, Mandarin teachers, visa assistance, and other foreigner advisory. This led her to easyMandarin Chinese School.
Ms. Zhang grew up in mainland China. She is fluent in English.

Naomi Harita
Business Development Manager / Course Consultant
She works with Japanese and Korean organizations and individuals to provide easyMandarin Chinese language learning solutions. She was born in Tokyo, Japan and studied in the UK and South Korea. She is a native Japanese speaker and is fluent in English and Korean.
Prior to joining easyMandarin Chinese School , Naomi worked at Nova English School and Marubeni Co. Naomi holds a degree in Teaching English and American Literature. She is also an expert in Chinese medicine. She lived in Beijing for 3 years and currently lives in Shanghai.
Johann Darbas
Business Development Manager / Course Consultant
He works with organizations and individuals to provide easyMandarin Chinese language learning solutions. He was born in France and studied in Australia and China. He is a native French speaker and is fluent in English and Chinese.
Prior to joining easyMandarin Chinese School , Johann worked at EF, the French Consulate in Shanghai, and for UNESCO. Johann holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Mandarin Chinese (INALCO – Paris, France and University of Queensland – Brisbane, Australia).
